2015-10-29 US Military and Communism

Kind of a follow up on the previous post.

It is funny to me when I see the fear the US have of Communism, and the armed forces being ready to fight it and keep it out of the country at all times. Yet it seems to me the biggest focus of Communism can be found in all the branches of the US armed forces itself!

Let’s see; a soldier in the armed forces will have a standardized salary; it will not be higher or lower depending on the effectiveness of that soldier; it is a set amount dictated by the institution. That soldier will have medical services paid by the armed forces; will receive higher education paid by the armed forces; will have access to several commodities like housing, clothing and food, provided at no or little cost by the armed forces.

The conditions in exchange of all those benefits are to accept, follow, protect, and be proud of the system, which are common traits of soldiers, to the point of feeling part of the system even after many years of having left the service at the armed forces.

There is also the mind conditioning of the system to the soldiers, just like it was criticized to the communist system before; “Once a soldier, always a soldier” And to reinforce the feelings throughout time, there are bumper stickers, caps, hats, jackets, and even special car registration plates dedicated to the specific different branches of the armed forces, ready to be used by those who once were part of it.

So it seems to me, the biggest focus of Communism in the US is the armed forces itself!

Now, we have to note that any institution and/or organization, in order to operate, has to have a structure to have an organized way of operation, and with it, the possibility of success. So just like we can observe the military system as a communist way of operation, we can also observe the military system organization as the only way any company or corporation can exist, independent of colors and/or ideas.

This brings us to the point where we should consider that Communism is just the color, the language and the geographical location given to a structural way of operation, and that way of operation is the universal way to be used when success is pursued.

Even the political campaign of a candidate could be considered a communist way of operation due to the organizational way it has, even if the candidate is a Republican!

So the fears of communism seems to have no ground when we consider the structural way it implies, and the universal use it has in all kinds of political systems in today’s society.

Communism is not the way things are done, but the name given to that way of doing things, and that way is the same the military system uses in the US. So Communism is just a name given at some point in time to a universal structure of operations, and with it, Communism in itself doesn’t really exist, and as a consequence, it cannot take over a society as it seems to be feared.

Communism was just a name given to a specific political moment in a specific country (and the subsequent congregation of certain countries) at a specific moment in human history. As such, it will always be present throughout human history with different names, as it is not the organizational way of doing things what is Communism, but just the name given to it.

Just a different perspective
