Sometimes it is very frustrating for me when realizing that things I like and knew brand new at the stores, are today vintage and collectible items!!
What??!!
It was just yesterday when I was in my twenties and dreaming of a better world; having a longer hair and a flat belly; thinking I knew something and that I should replace the old generation with all their mistakes and wrong ways. Thinking I had the power to change things and create better situations, yet always confused and asking for directions!
Ahh!! The wonders of the human mind!!
Now I just have Sunday mornings to write, so I get up at 3am and write until 9am, while people around sleep. Quietly seating by the fireplace I think about ethereal thoughts that will only have a 48 hours life, in a single page in a post; yet it seems like a price well earned for me to be here; just don’t ask me how or why!!
While the brand new car I saw at the showroom in my youth waits for me in the driveway to restore it now, and the things I knew and were part of my life silently rest in a museum for my son to see and wonder how on Earth!!
But what really puzzles me the most it is how the things that so much frustrate me, are also the things that give me the most silent and quiet pleasure in life!! This is not the kind of life I wanted, yet I’m having a little fun with it everyday!!
I am at the gates of the Golden Age and I don’t want to go in!! Yet somehow deep inside I know I’ll enjoy it when I get there!! Go figure!!
Will I qualify for restoration, or to be placed in a museum as an example of another, obsolete time? Most probably not, LOL
